Easter
Light a candle and remember the presence of God is with you.
Before you begin, cut out the Lent Wreath pieces.
The season of Lent is the time when we prepare for Easter.
But… Wait… Something has changed. Hmmm…
Place the road in front of you. Place the tomb in the center on the road.
Every week has been a different piece of a what becomes very special story. This piece looks different. It complete the center of the wreath.
Let each person cut out or touch a piece of the is week’s wreath.
The road looks the same, but something has changed. Hmmm…
Place Mary on the end of the road.
Mary Magdalene was on the road to go to the tomb where Jesus had been buried.
Hide the angel by the tomb.
Everyone who loved Jesus, like Mary, was very sad that he had been crucified.
Move Mary down the road toward the tomb.
It was very early in the morning. When she reached the tomb… But…. Wait… Something has changed. The stone that was to protect Jesus’ body had been rolled away!
Roll the stone or rock in front of the tomb.
The tears she had been crying became even worse and everything became blurry. How could someone take Jesus?
Take a moment to comfort Mary. Move the angel in front of the tomb
Mary yelped as someone else answered her question! An angel said, “Do not be afraid, Jesus has risen!”
Put Jesus in place of the angel and set the angel aside.
“Woman, why are you crying? Who are you looking for?”
Place Mary next to Jesus.
Mary looked up. Mary had been looking for Jesus and she found him… ALIVE!
That moment changed Mary, the other women, the disciples, and it can change you!
Jesus was alive! He had risen from the dead!
He had been resurrected! He was alive! Indeed!
If you know the tune to “Amen,” sing together!
Feel free to dance, raise your hands, and celebrate!
Shout! “Hallelujah! Christ is risen! Indeed!”
John 20:1
(Common English Bible)
Early in the morning of the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.
Continuing to Work with The Stories
While the season of Lent has come to a close, the Easter Season lasts for 50 days.
Here are some of the stories you can write and tell with the pieces
you already have acquired.
The Commissioning of the 12 Disciples—(Jesus, Disciples, Mountain Backdrop)
Doubting Thomas—(Table, Jesus, Disciples)
The Ascension of Jesus—(Jesus, Adults, Mountain Backdrop)
What other stories can you tell? What other items can you create to tell more?
